Raising Awareness

Cheer on the Cheeky Santas in memory of Ben

On Saturday December 9 there will be a very special Cheeky Santa Dash taking place in Preston to remember and celebrate the life of Ben Ashworth and to raise funds for Beating Bowel Cancer.

If you live locally we'd love you to come along and support us.

Louise Ashworth says:

"Christmas is a special time of year, and I've never met anyone who loved Christmas as much as my beautiful husband Ben. His love of the festive season and determination to help others sparked the idea for the Cheeky Santa Dash. Over the last four years we have raised funds, awareness of Bowel Cancer symptoms and encouraged people to get active.

"This year will be extra special my wonderful Ben sadly passed away in July this year.

"The opportunity to bring the community together in his memory is as beautiful as it is sad. Over the last five years I have cared for my husband while bringing up our children together. We have had tremendous ups and downs, but have been blessed with an incredible and supportive community both at home and online.

"For those who are grieving the loss of a loved one or continuing the fight against Bowel Cancer this Christmas, my hope is that you too will be able to find help where you need it through the love and support of family, friendship and shared understanding."

All the details are on the Beating Bowel Cancer website - whether you come along to cheer, run or even just chat, Louise and the Beating Bowel cancer team would love to see you!
