Bowel cancer treatment and side effects

hello

Does anyone have advice for alleviating rectal discharge after colonostomy op?

Hello,
My father had colonostomy op last year.
My father had stoma op last year.
One side-effect has been a continuous and lasting mucus rectal discharge, which has not improved and is unlikely to. It restricts his ability to move far from the house (even with pads he needs to change very frequently) and is very unpleasant for him. Further surgery is not an option.
We’ve looked all over the web for solutions but haven’t found anything to make this better. Please can anyone help ? He’s been through so much and would love one last holiday to the seaside.
Or just to live ‘normally’

@hello , loperamide, it was life changing for Geoff , he struggled for 3 months constantly with mucas , all he needed was 1 in the morning and 1. At night, it never interfered with his out put. ,
Good luck
