Life with bowel cancer

bettebette

Lung scan and Cea

I have had a consultation with a thoracic specialist about my lungs this morning, he agrees that the lesions are not malignant. He was able to look at scans from 2008/9 ie: pre my bowel cancer and tell me that he could see no marked difference in the lesions and cyst, which is hugely reassuring.
I also asked him about the cea rising (28 most recently) and the suggestion that lung inflammation could cause it, this was not so positive; he said that he wasn’t able to say that anything other than a low level would be likely to be caused by my lung disease, the colorectal team “must be vigilant”.
I feel positive that I am being throughly investigated, I have three upcoming appointments (endocrinology, ent and colorectal) so at least I will have a much clearer idea of everything! 😊

Your team are definitely on your case @bettebette which is really good to hear ........ sometimes it feels as if we just hear the stories about poor experiences with medics! Take very good care, Kim :x::x:

Thank you @Gypsy and @Lirio345.
They are good now, but I have the same story as many, with the initial illness being missed for over nine months after I first went to the GP. However I have nothing but praise for my surgeon and her team and the thoracic specialist and team
