Hospital

Hi... have to someone tell me everything will gonna be ok. Waiting for my brother come to mind boys, so I could go to hospital. Did call ambulance this morning and hubby is in hospital..waiting for results of blood tests. He started chemotherapy on last Thursday(5th cycle) but have diarrhoea already week.. some how managed with medicine. But last two days doesn't feel good at all, extremely bloted and very exhausted..don't have appetite.. have lost 4 more kg during last week. Trying to take fluid as much as possible. But there is a little blood in stool again.
It is too much to handle... 😒

@matilda it sounds like things are going well on the new treatment plans right now for you both - I know that feeling of panicking at things you read and finding worst case scenarios in what the results say but like you said you also found positives - focus on those for you and your family and I hope you get support in looking after yourself too :x: :x: :x:

Baxter2

I hope things are continuing to go well and Andres is making good steady progress!

I bet he just loves being back at home and you all do too!

Lots of love

I'm so glad that things are coming together for you both @matilda. If he's eating, sleeping and exercising better, bowels working, less pain and discomfort, then he's already won half the battle. Well done to both of you!

Andres is feeling ok, eating well, gaining weight, working hard with his bowel movements πŸ’ͺ, but here is one thing that freaking me out and after googling yesterday I couldn't get a sleep of fear. His ancles are getting swollen (started already in hospital) and his face and eyes gets yellowish. About ankles in hospital they said that it's because of fluids and big doses of morphine and other painkillers.. because sometimes he has problem with urination as well (because of position of tumor) They did all blood tests and scan on this Monday before let him come home. We already received letter about next blood tests, chemotherapy cycle.. He had call from his radiologist when they will start radiation. But those symptoms (swollen feets, yellow eyes) is freaking me out. Is that the beggining of end ...liver failure..etc..? If so, why would nobody tell us because they could see everything in blood tests and scan for sure. Sometimes I get paranoid they don't tell us everything 😒
P.S Got Magnesium, B6 vitamins for him few days ago.

Good morning @matilda

I'm sorry you're having all these worries about Andres and his new symptoms. I guess the only way to find out is to explore this with his consultant.

Sometimes tumour pressing on a ureter can cause backflow to kidney and a stent can be done in some cases. Again, (and I'm only guessing here) if there's an issue with the bile duct,I've heard of stents being used there too. Can you arrange to discuss your concerns week?

I hope you all have a nice Sunday regardless and that Andres is really benefitting frobeing ack at home with you all!

Lots of love to you all!

@Baxter2 thanks, Karen. I think I will give a call to GP tomorrow and try to get some consultation from a doctor. Andres has colonic stent already, but have never heard that they use some for bile duct as well. He is literally feeling that that all blockage(stool) is moving lower. Have read that those blockages can actually cause jaundice. He is feeling as normal as possible for his position now..just this.

jj

@matilda yes do get a consult with one of the doctors or talk to his colorectal nurse specialist as she can arrange for him to be seen.
Take a deep breath. First step, get him seen by a doctor.

Hello @matilda Our cancer journeys are full of ups and downs ....good news and bad news all we can do is try our very best to enjoy the good news and cope as best we can with the disappointments
Ive been finding it quite hard to read about other friends on here having their bad times as we have had quite a setback ourselves...But I am totally/ fairly sure that John will cope He is a big strong man and not a worrier like me !
You are taking such good care of your family Take care of yourself too :x:

So sorry, only just picking up on this, @matilda
I don't know enough to give you any information on Andres' symptoms. However I feel sure that your medical team would not keep anything important from you, no matter how much it might upset you.
I'm full of admiration how they could do that as I could not, myself.
Big {{{ HUGS }}} from me too.

@jj @Gypsy @KatieR @Dan-888 πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’šπŸŒž Thank you.

Sorry, I have not had time to write in here, too much going on. Andres is back in hospital since Tuesday. He was getting more yellowish and swollen abdomen, so I decide to get in touch with radiologist/Macmillan nurse and thanks God I did. Because she get in touch with our oncologist straight away, and organised straight admissions to hospital..oncology. He was admitted straight away and exactly where he should be. All tests done without waiting, yesterday they did scan and find out that everything is safe for stent, and most of them thinks that new chemotherapy was the reason jaundice started. Put him on antibiotics, drip..etc.. And Andres already started bring back normal colour, yellow is fading, lot of urination, and clearer mind. Will see about today, but good thing that everything is happening without long waiting. Oncologist is involved, even apologies that gave him wrong chemo. The bad thing is that they have to stop chemo while they sorting out this problem. He just finished first cycle of Xeliri. Andres is fighter, so proud of him.. because I can see how hard it is for him, because of this symptomatic cancer. Last days for myself have been like a bad rollercoaster, but I try to stay strong, focus on what we should do.. don't think the worse ( even if that scenario is all the time in my head) We are doing everything we can for this moment and I am thankful to God our team is not giving up for him yet. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’š
