New NHS SafeFit trial programme

SafeFit has been designed, in response to COVID-19, to support people living with cancer to maintain and improve their physical and emotional wellbeing, whilst following Government guidelines.

It is a free remote trial for anyone in the UK with suspicion of, or confirmed diagnosis of, cancer. We put you in contact with a cancer exercise specialist who will help you during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

You can find out more and refer yourself for the trial at

Thanks @Baxter2 for sharing the details!

Thank you @Richard Staff (Support and Information) and @Baxter2,

I posted earlier this week asking about how people exercised during Covid. Safefit would be ideal for my husband, given that we live in London and so finding empty places to exercise is rather difficult! I think it is also a confidence thing - we hear too many stories about how easy it is to catch the virus, so tend to stay indoors to be safe.

Thanks too to @cyclingjohnny, @bowelbehavingbadly. @marathonlady, @kawa909 and @Lucie who all passed on great advice to help us.

Keep safe everyone,
Helen :x:

I saw the safefit trial advertised here by a few people and signed up a little while ago. It's been really good! I've had a fitness session on zoom 3 times a week for a month. For the next 8 weeks I will have a session once a week. It's like having your own personal trainor but it's free. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
So if you fancy a bit of exercise sign up-they will organise it around your own needs. I really recommend it. I can't remember whos post I originally read but thanks to @Richard Staff (Support and Information), @Baxter2, @marathonlady, @Siona for sharing the details

Oh that great to hear @mountainwoman! I'm glad you've gained so much from this initiative. I bet you feel great? Hopefully by sharing your experience, others will now think about giving it a try too!

Sending lots of love

amazing @mountainwoman thanks for sharing your experience with this trial and I hope this will encourage other people to try it :) :x::x:

Brilliant idea

Iโ€™ve been on the trial for 12 weeks now so my classes now go down to once a month and Iโ€™m gutted about it! If thereโ€™s anyone who would like to continue on, ask your trainer because mine has told me there is also another course similar to this that supports recovery. I canโ€™t remember the name of it but Iโ€™ll ask and report back for anyone who is interested.
